The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has today, 13th of October, welcomed the Government support for the haulage sector via a reduction in road tax in the Government budget. The IRHA has been lobbying tirelessly for a reduction in road tax levels that have had a strangling effect on the sector resulting in hauliers in Ireland unable to compete with out-of-state operators, particularly from Northern Ireland.

IRHA has stated today, 18th of September, that it held a very constructive meeting in Brussels earlier this week with Commissioner Bulc regarding the on-going migrant crisis affecting Irish road haulage operators when transiting France. The meeting was attended by the President of the IRHA Ms Verona Murphy and Irish MEP, now Vice President of the European Parliament, Ms Mairead McGuinness.

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has today, 12th of May 2015, welcomed the election of a female to the position of President of the IRHA. Ms Verona Murphy of Drumur Transport in Wexford was elected to the position following the Association’s annual conference and AGM in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan.
